Sure. 5 hours of sleep is TOTALLY enough.

Why? WHY? Why at 8am was I wide awake, unable to fall back asleep? I didn't get to sleep until about 3am after the wireless interwebs here in the luxury resort failed me. So one would think that I would sleep in since I didn't really have to be up at any particular time. Yeah. Not so much. Anyway - everyones getting ready for the day. Gonna grab some breakfast at some 5 star establishment (aka Denny's) and then have a shopping spree at a high class top of the line botique (aka WalMart) before we take the luxury sedan (aka Mitsubishi Montero with a windshield secured by blue painters tape) back on the road again. Just a few thoughts before then:

1) still not completely sure of the time. with the way technology is these days, I'm not entirely sure my pc and phone haven't 'auto updated' based on space satellites and I don't own a watch, so I'm just suspicious of the actual time right now. Bet there's something on the internet that can solve this mystery but frankly - I'm too tired.

2) if you've never traveled with an 8 year old for an extended period of time you totally should. I will not elaborate beyond that at this time.

3) i have underestimatated the ability of Clara's dog to be well behaved.

4) i need to apologize to the great people of Pocohontas, Oh if there is such a place. I was wrong. We were in Pocohontas, Illinois. (Tunar/Moir - if this is ANYWHERE near where you live, I'm totally coming to visit you. That place is where dreams are born.)

5) bathtubs that sit 1 - 1.5 feet higher than the bathroom floor are TREACHEROUS! but i'm sure it would have made for some HILARIOUS footage on Americas Funniest Home Videos.

6) cheese products do not travel well if not in a cooler. I think that last string cheese was a bad idea last night.

7) It is possible for one person to talk for 10 hours straight and not repeat a story. (love you Clara!)

Okay - shopping awaits. Catch you later internet!

  2. Traveling with an 8 year old, I bet that will be an experience of a life time! Everyone single person or engaged couple must do this, then go purchase stock in birth control manufacturers, make millions!

  3. I love comment # 2, I think every couple planning to get married must take a 8 year old out of an extended trip, then go purchase stock in birth control products.

This is Frank back in Detroit, It sounds like to adventure is on! What a great story about the man that taped up your windsheld from the auto glass place in Ohio. Not too many people would have done that on a Sunday afternoon on there own time! Say HI to Clara & Dante, look foward to your next post.
